  • their circumstances and triggers

  • how they understand their symptoms and feelings

  • the type of resources and/or support they look for

Placing my findings into an empathy map helped me gain a deeper understanding of the needs and goals of YouFirst target group

IDEATE

Exploring the user journey through burnout to ideate possible design solutions

Drawing a storyboard allowed me to further brainstorm and visualise the steps and emotions users may be going through in a situation of stress and burnout, and how YouFirst could support them. I then sketched some initial design concepts using low-fidelity wireframes.

PROTOTYPE & TEST

Mid-fidelity prototype

I've created a mid-fidelity prototype and tested it with people who participated in the user research.

High-fidelity design

The choice of style and components in the UI design reflects the purpose of YouFirst - to create a supportive and easy environment for users experiencing stress and burnout. Colours are soft and playful, typography and shapes are clean and friendly.

The feedback gathered during testing was also taken into consideration.

Learnings & next steps

Exploring the topic of burnout, I've learned that there are different variables to each person's experience but there are also common denominators such as self-awareness and support that most people seek in a situation of stress.

The next step would be test the high fidelity prototype and further understand how YouFirst can add more value to users through curated and customised tools, resources and groups.
